Lady in the Water

     Greg said “It’s not going to blow you away, but it’s going to make you happy.”  I had been waiting for it to come out since I saw the first preview (months before Mr. Greg even came home) so I took the first chance I had to see it and…..he was right! It did make me happy. 

I had a lot of fun guessing which roles the tenants would play. Anyone who has watched a  movie with me knows I like to talk, especially if I’m trying to figure out the plot. Luckily I went with a friend that does the same thing and we sat away from most of the other viewers.

The reviews made it seem like everyone in the apartment building was a character in a fairy tale, which was not the case. It’s just that all the tenants they introduced played a part in this far-eastern bedtime story.

All in all, it’s a wonderful Hollywood depiction of a fairy tale, they did a great job. I am now a fan of M. Night Shyamalan’s (I have not seen anything of his before this) and am going to watch anything of his that I find.

I’ve got to get my toddler to bed, it’s already past his bedtime, so I’m going to cut this short.

Here’s the down and dirty: You don’t have to see this in the 8$ theater. You can wait for it to come out at the dollar theater or on dvd. But you should see it. It’s got the perfect amount of suspense and happy conclusion for right before bed. Also, it’s fun to find out what happens to the obnoxious movie critic. =)
